My Final Assessment Piece - Passage
Hi folks, I think I can now function in real life again, I feel as though this piece of work has taken up the last few months entirely and life zoomed by. I have attached a photo of the fabric piece on its own as a fabric wall hanging, this is made from discharged satin and chiffon and has who knows how many of those wonderful little french knots on it along with free machine quilting and some embellishments. The piece is then complete with a hanging of copper which I have patinated, stitched lots of knots on also and cut to shape. on their side, they are both the shape of shipwrecks but i prefer them the way I have shown you. I am now very glad to be finished this work and to hand it in for evalution tomorrow - woohoo - will be back soon with some work from my notebooks which built up to this piece. :0)))

looks amazing! I would love to see it in real life
my god Carrie - you can see the work that's gone into these. the texture and colour look stunning. wish I could see IRL too!
The smallest details like the watch workings really add to this. So intricate. Good luck with the outcome, I'm sure you'll be highly graded!
Its fab sis, I know how hard you worked on this piece and as always you have done yourself proud. Looking forward to seeing it the wkend. Well done x
Beautiful work, Carrie, you have a patience of an angel.
It looks fantastic Carrie! Well done on all the hard work and I'm sure the assessment will go well. Looking forward to seeing it 'in person'!
I'm sure you are going to make the grade with all you have done love the depth of this piece.
Stunning amazing artwork Carrie!
Hi Carrie, it was lovely to meet you at the NEC with Carol and Penny. I've looked through your blog and love your work. The bag you had with you on Thursday inspired me to buy Isobel Hall's book. I am bursting to experiment with all the bits I bought and have picked up some old books like Maggie Greys 'textile translations'. Just need another 24 hours in a day!!
This piece is beautuful Carrie, just wish I could see it in real life too! You must be relieved this is now all over & you can play again. Thanks for the lovely comment & feedback on my quilting block, still struggling with the latter but will take the plunge eventually! LOL
