one for sorrow

Inspired by the many magpies that hop around my garden I made this piece - it will probably be stretched over some plywood eventually. Lots of texture on the main circle which will probably never be seen - even managed a few french knots !! I havn't measured it yet but its over a metre wide to give you an idea of the size of it.

OMG - I can't believe it is that big, it must be stunning irl. The texture looks amazing. I was thinking about you today, about how I am so looking forward to your first exhibition - cause its only a matter of time ;-)

I want to touch it, actually I want it on my wall, I'm looking at the perfect spot for it right now.

It is a beautiful Piece Carrie, and having seen it IRL I realise that photos cannot possibly do it justice!

Now I've actually seen it IRL - I think its even more amazing. The texture on the white is beautiful and really has the feel of bird feathers. The hint of colour doesn't show as well in the photo as it does irl and it really does make a difference. The stitching along the central band is absolutely fantastic. And it was amazing to see your sketch book and how the idea evolved.

I love the whole concept of this piece as I adore Magpies. The texture looks divine.
